Pamela Louderback, Day 51

I decided to make my way to City Centre and take in the Christmas Continental Market today.  The weather has been a bit warmer than the last two weeks which helped considering my walk took about 30 minutes - one way.  There were all sorts of vendors and food from all over Europe represented here.  One booth even sported an individual dressed as a "Native American" hawking cheaply made dreamcatchers.  I asked him what tribe he was from but got no reply.  His website included the name Indiana in it - but was in the UK.  Anyway, overall the day was really fun, with nice weather and pleasant people.  Also, on the fringe of teh Market was a motorcycle show - approximately 12 to 15 cycles were being displayed by their proud owners.  Enjoy the pictures of City Hall, the Christmas Continental Market and the motorcycle show.

There was a motorcycle show on the outer rim of the market

Police presence as always -- there were probably a dozen bikes on display

Tent with lots of different types of food available

They had some great hot drinks at this place -- brisk business due in part to the cold weather!
I had to have some of their crepes -- well worth the overpriced total
This place had some really cute hats -- hats are a huge thing here for people of all ages.
If my daughter were here, I'm sure she'd love this place!

And pictures of City Hall are below

  1. Yesterday was our Abate and USMC "Toys for Tots" "bike" ride. I heard that there were supposed to be over 20,000 bikers traveling the streets of Tulsa to the River Spirit casino with their toys.

  2. I actually got to see the procession via Skype thanks to Paul! Pretty cool sight, especially Santa in the Hummer. I watched the bikes drive by for over 10 minutes -- I'll bet there were over 20,000 bikers. Very special thing these guys (and gals) do, indeed.
